I’m Verity Brighton, a Canine Myotherapist covering West and East Sussex.
Canine myotherapy is a manual therapy that specialises in soft tissue, treating chronic muscular pain and compensatory issues in dogs. Canine myotherapy can help to relieve your dog of discomfort and to get them moving in a more functional way. It can also form part of a maintenance programme to ensure your dog stays in good musculoskeletal health or to ensure balanced muscle development in your puppy.
All my treatments are choice-led and are carried out at floor level so your dog is relaxed, comfortable and in an optimal condition for healing. I am fully insured, work closely with your vet and treat only with vet consent. I am registered with IAAT (International Association of Animal Therapists).
I am very happy to discuss your dog’s condition and answer any questions you may have prior to booking an appointment, so please feel free to get in touch by phone or email.
Weekend and evening appointments available.
Areas Covered for Home Visits: West Sussex: Henfield, Worthing, Steyning, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Horsham and surrounding areas. East Sussex: Brighton, Hove, Lewes and surrounding areas.
Treatment Programmes
Every dog and every condition is different so your dog’s treatment programme will be tailored exactly to their individual needs. I treat using a combination of the following modalities:
Galen Myotherapy
This is a manual therapy that involves detailed postural assessments, specialised and targeted massage techniques, passive movement and myofascial release.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy, or photobiomodulation, causes biochemical changes to cells in the body and enhances healing. It reduces pain, scar tissue, inflammation and enhances recovery from soft tissue injuries. I also use LED Red Light Therapy.
Rehab Programmes
There is so much else we can do to help your dog. I will advise on exercise programmes and home environment adaptations to enhance your dog’s recovery.
